"Not So Nice," Winner of 2010 Kickball Tournament
3rd Annual Kickball Tournament a Success!!
The Chamber's 3rd Annual "Kick It In Phelps" kickball tournament was held on Saturday, June 26 at Wavering Park. Six teams and many spectators enjoyed a day full of kickball games and a variety of refreshments that began with the first game at 10 a.m. The double elimination format tournament ended with the championship game between the team from Holiday Lodge and team "Not So Nice" Team "Not So Nice" prevailed by a score of 4-2 and won the $500 first prize. Each member of the winning team also received a 2010 Kickball Champion T-Shirt. Team "Not So Nice" donated their winnings to the Relay for Life. The second place team was Holiday Lodge and they received $300 in prize money. Third place was one by the team from The Great Escape and they won $150 in prize money. Other teams participating were Northern Exposure's team "Swift Kick in the Grass", Sand Lake Pub, No Kids Weekend III the Mud Dogs.
The chamber would like to thank all of the teams and their fans who came to the park for the event. In addition, special thanks go out to Jack and Charmain Harrison for scoring and announcing, Jason McCrea and Mark Grmick for umpping as well as the players who umpped when they were not involved in a game.
